Sat Nav service for thieves!': eBay is blasted over claims its app details the exact location to within a few feet of where cars and motorbikes up for sale are parked while awaiting collection - When users click a general location, they are then able to zoom in to postcode  - Viewers of advert for a £17,300 Mercedes in Bracknell could view seller's house   - Function was exposed when Piston Addictz page posted warning on Facebook

Online shopping giant eBay have been accused of offering a 'sat nav service for thieves' by showing the precise location of collection-only valuables.

Sellers of cars and motorbikes have discovered to their horror that potential buyers can zoom in to within a few metres of where the item is for sale.

But the problem, caused by phone app versions of eBay, means the location of almost any heavy and valuable item for collection-only is revealed.

The function came to light on Saturday when vehicle page, Piston Addictz, issued a warning on Facebook.

They wrote: 'Sellers on eBay beware! eBay are now giving out full postcodes and pin dropping your location when listing a vehicle for sale!'

Dozens of followers left comments, shocked at the discovery.

Jack Trimmis wrote: 'I thought it was just dealers but I’ve just checked a friends and and it genuinely does show it for private sellers too!'
