Malaysia: Foreign-registered vehicles will need VEP

The Malaysian governmnet has announced that all foreign-registered vehicles coming into Malyasia will require a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) in addition to the Road Charge. Upon paying the VEP vehicles would be issued with a a Radio Frequency Indentification (RFID) tag to be placed on the windshield of their vehicles.  They claim the VEP will help identity the number of foreign vehicles entering Malaysia and also to prevent car theft and car cloning syndicates.
