ATPA Sub Committee - Leadership Development
The IAATI ATPA Committee intends to establish a Vehicle Crimes Leadership Sub-Committee. This work
the group is believed to set a course of action in gathering national and international vehicle crimes command,
supervisory and leadership personnel. The working group will establish a forum of dialogue, discussion
and deliberation on issues and concerns facing today’s vehicle crimes enforcement operations, inclusive
of the escalation of offender violence.
To provide a sub-committee for a specialized forum of discussion and discovery among vehicle crimes
enforcement leaders, which supervise, command, or otherwise lead multi-jurisdictional enforcement
programs, teams, or task forces, in developing best practices and strategies to elevate officer safety,
efficiency, and effectiveness when investigating vehicle crimes.
The goal of the sub-committee would be to share information, collaborate, and possibly establish written best
practices to address varying principles of managing and leading a vehicle crimes enforcement investigation,
program, team, or task force. This group should provide industry standards for managing auto theft task
forces and programs, creating a synergistic environment for problem resolutions and developing training
and education with the platform for vehicle crime investigations.
