It is a great honor for me to announce the 2023 International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) President´s Award recipient: Mr. Renato Schipani

Thank you Iain McKinlay for taking the time and travelling from Scotland to Lyon, France to present this award on my behalf, acknowledging its importance. You've truly honored the task.

The President´s Award is intended for the President of IAATI to honor any members who have distinguished themselves by giving extraordinary service to IAATI.
This year´s recipient has provided extraordinary service to IAATI, and not only at the International level but also for his Branch and other Chapters and Branches.

Regarding his Branch, not only he is a Past President with many years of experience, but also he has actively stood up for the Branch in a time of need and he worked hard to rebuild the Branch.

He has also provided his knowledge in numerous classes at IAATI Conferences over the years.

He was a key player in the creation of the Latin American Branch, having introduced Daniel Beck to IAATI back in 2012, and also played a major role in the creation of the Asian Branch.

He has held different positions within the International Board but I believe his most valuable input for the association itself is the global perspective he provides and the way he has always believed in IAATI and placed it on the international scene, every time he had the chance to do so, thanks to his role within his agency, INTERPOL .

Since the 1st INTERPOL Global Conference on Vehicle Crime, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand in 2016, then the 2nd one in Malaysia, and the 3rd in Mexico, he always made sure IAATI had a proper space to share what our association is about to the entire world. The participation of IAATI was opened not only to the President but also to representatives from different Chapters and Branches.
In this way, along the years our Award recipient traced a path full of opportunities for IAATI, not at a regional level, but at a WORLDWIDE one, letting our name, our brand, IAATI, be related to the most important police agency in the world and that took us finally to this year in which we co-hosted the 4th INTERPOL Conference on Vehicle Crime in Lyon, France, at the HQ of INTERPOL, and we are in the final countdown to sign an MOU which will perpetuate the relationship between both entities, all because of his efforts.

Thank you Renato for everything you've done, your selfless work means a lot for many people and reflects above all what a humble person you are.
