2020 Heavy Equipment Award Winners (L-R) Sgt. Lonnie Seibert (supervisor); Rob Oakleaf; Randy Stanley

The winners of the 2020 IAATI Heavy Equipment Award are two acting detectives who make up the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crimes Task Force. Their duties encompass a variety of investigations ranging from animal cruelty to fighting heavy equipment theft. During just this past year these two deputies have recovered over $200,000.00 worth of heavy equipment. Their recoveries have assisted individual owners, small businesses, and major construction companies. These deputies also place an emphasis on crime prevention efforts teaching individuals and companies how to protect their equipment and how to avoid becoming a victim of theft. They also routinely conduct surveillance on frequent theft sites and manage their agency’s Owner Applied Identification Number program. These deputies are diligent in their investigations ensuring not only the recovery of the stolen equipment but the apprehension of those responsible for the crime.

This year’s winners are Deputy Sheriff Rob Oakleaf and Deputy Sheriff Randy Stanley of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crimes Task Force.

Congratulations to both detectives on a job well done!
